A strengthening partnership: Sweaty Betty chooses Fulgar once again
for ever More sustainable activewear
Sweaty Betty, the British activewear brand founded in London in the late 1990s and designed by women for women, has once again chosen to rely on the Italian excellence of Fulgar for a selection of 10 statement pieces from its Athlete collection. Renowned for its ability to combine fashion and fitness with high-performance technical fabrics, Sweaty Betty reaffirms its commitment to quality and sustainability by selecting Q-CYCLE®, a yarn developed by Fulgar.
Q-CYCLE® is a next-generation polyamide 6.6 yarn that represents a breakthrough in the textile industry. Produced through a certified mass balance process, it is made entirely from an alternative raw material: pyrolysis oil derived from the recycling of end-of-life or disused tyres – one of the most environmentally challenging types of waste. In addition to delivering technical performance – including lightness, strength, and elasticity – comparable to that of virgin polyamide, Q-CYCLE® ensures a significantly lower environmental impact.
Q-CYCLE® by Fulgar is therefore the ideal choice for contemporary activewear, meeting the demands of performance, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility – values shared by both Sweaty Betty and Fulgar.
The new Athlete collection introduces 10 performance pieces in total, including seamless tanks, cropped tops, short-sleeve tees and long-sleeve versions. Each garment is made using Q-CYCLE® and features lightweight, sweat-wicking fabrics with 4-way stretch for maximum freedom of movement. Technical details such as ribbed or mesh inserts, flattering slim or loose fits, and quick-drying properties make the collection versatile and high-performing for training across disciplines.
Fiona Hannam, Head of Product Technology at Sweaty Betty, commented: "We always aim for the best in our collections. That’s why we chose to rely on Fulgar and its cutting-edge yarn Q-CYCLE®, which embodies the highest standards of quality and sustainability."
Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar, added: "We are proud to support Sweaty Betty on its journey towards increasingly responsible collections, thanks to the potential of our yarns. We hope this will be the first step towards an even stronger collaboration. Our portfolio includes not only sustainable yarns, but also high-performance ones."
