A history of excelence
Textiles have always been one of the cornerstones of the Made in Italy manufacture and Fulgar, a leading company in the production and distribution of Polyamide 6,6 - one of the most used synthetic yarns in the world - and covered elastomers in the textile and technical sectors, is one of the most representative cases.
FULGAR S.p.A. was born in 1979 in Castel Goffredo in the province of Mantua, the place of the current headquarters, in the district of women’s hosiery. The company went from supplying local companies in the early 80s, to creating more versatile products with its own brand in the late 90s, until the last phase started in 2000, with the internationalization and opening of new plants.
Thanks to the passion for innovation, in Fulgar have always lived the tradition of the best made in Italy textiles and the continuous search for cutting-edge technologies and solutions for the future of the sector. A unique approach that led her to embrace values and "Sustainability" projects long before the theme became a must for industry. Fulgar, in fact, for over 10 years, has undertaken for all the Group’s companies, a structured green program that involves both the production process and the offer of products.
Fulgar, a leading Italian company in the textile sector in the production of quality man-made yarns, was founded in Italy in 1979 and more precisely in Castel Goffredo, in the women's hosiery district. Over the course of fifty years of activity, the company has experienced strong expansion and major transformations that have led it to become a global leader (in the production of polyamide 6,6) while remaining strongly rooted in its territory of origin .
“We operate internationally in the synthetic fibers market and are leaders in the production and distribution of polyamide 6,6 and covered elastomers in the textile and technical sector – explains President Marino Garosi – Our yarns find application in various sectors (hosiery, seamless , weaving, circular, chain, raschel knitwear) and for various uses, from underwear to corsetry, to bathing, fashion, outwear and sports. We develop, produce and distribute according to the uniqueness of the customer, offering products characterized by the typical quality of Made in Italy".
To expand its presence in the local and Asian market, Fulgar Lanka was founded in 2003, a company specialized in the production of textured polyamide 6.6 thread. In 2006 Fulgar, however, invested in Castel Goffredo itself in a spinning plant specialized in the production of polyamide 6.6 which uses the most modern technologies. The plant is perfectly integrated with the various downstream departments, such as texturing, coating, taslanization, and allows Fulgar a further leap forward in terms of production verticalization and innovation functional to customer needs.
Internationalization marks another fundamental stage in 2007, when the Fulgar East Doo Company was founded in Serbia, with the precise aim of providing customers with quality products but at lower prices, thus counteracting the spread of Chinese products on the market Italian.
In 2009, Fulgar signed an international partnership with the Invista Group, for the distribution and sale of Lycra Fiber and Elaspan Fiber for the European market, becoming the main exclusive distributor for Italy, Europe and Turkey.
Launch of the first 100% bio-based yarn. “Our products are used by companies all over the world – continues Marino Garosi – This is why we offer an increasingly rich and transversal range, with functional, sustainable fibers suitable for multiple applications. An example is the new Q-Nova microfibre, produced exclusively with recycled raw materials, which during the ISPO 2013 winter exhibition was recognized as one of the best innovations in the performance materials segment for sports".
In 2019, FULGAR TURKEY was founded for the sale and distribution of Fulgar products. An investment aimed at ensuring a direct and rapid response on the Turkish market.
Publication of Fulgar's Sustainability Report as of 31/12/2021.
The Sustainability Report has allowed Fulgar to obtain numerous certifications and awards and to create a specific portfolio of high-performance and eco-sustainable yarns.
Fulgar launches Q-CYCLE®, the innovative yarn, where the raw material necessary for its production has been replaced by pyrolysis oil coming from discarded tyres; the result is a revolutionary polyamide 6,6, which saves up to 50% of CO2 emissions and does not use fossil resources.
