FULGAR and WRÅD explore the future of fashion

The final episode of 'On the Trail of Future Fashion' is now online

The final episode of  "On the trail of the fashion of the future"" will also be available online on FULGAR’s social channels (Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@FulgarItalia/videos). This edutainment initiative was created by Fulgar, an Italian company and leader in high-tech yarn production, in collaboration with WRÅD, a consultancy and creative studio founded by Matteo Ward, to support the responsible evolution of the fashion and textile industry.

A series of short video contents, brought to life by the WRÅD team, aimed to inform a broad audience – from industry professionals to conscious consumers – about the origin of the materials we wear every day and Fulgar’s research and development efforts.

Through accessible language and a format that combines information and entertainment, the initiative showed how Fulgar’s research and technologies can improve widely used materials, such as virgin polyamide, reducing environmental impact and maximizing social value along the supply chain. A path of conscious innovation that does not claim to offer definitive solutions but recognizes the value of every step forward towards more responsible alternatives, as part of an ongoing evolution toward increasingly advanced fibers.

The journey unfolded in four stages within the "sustainable DNA" of the textile industry. It began with a reflection on the need to rethink the fashion system in an integrated way, going beyond the simple choice of material to embrace a vision that considers innovation, resource management, and social and environmental impact. The second episode covered the transformation of nylon through mechanical recycling, presenting Q-NOVA®, Fulgar’s fiber made from regenerated raw materials, demonstrating how polyamide can have a second life. The third chapter explored the biomaterials revolution with EVO®, a 100% bio-based polyamide yarn derived from renewable sources such as castor seeds and industrial corn, where nature and science meet. Finally, the fourth episode revealed the potential of chemical recycling with Q-CYCLE®, an innovative yarn whose production replaces 100% of virgin raw materials with pyrolysis oil from end-of-life tires, showing how an object seemingly far from the textile world can be transformed into fiber for clothing.

The main objective was to stimulate critical thinking and open dialogue on sustainability, going beyond the limits of specialist debate to also reach today’s consumers. Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar, highlighted that education is the true driver of change: "Only an informed consumer can understand what lies behind a fabric and become an active part of the transformation."

Echoing her, Alice Fortuna, Director of Communication at WRÅD, emphasized that sustainability does not end with the choice of a material but lies in the holistic redefinition of the role of products brought to the market, valuing continuous and conscious innovation.

With the launch of this project, Fulgar also confirms its role as a pioneer in the sustainable man-made yarn sector. The company, founded in Castel Goffredo in the late 1970s, continues to stand out for its vocation for innovation, constantly investing in Research and Development to combine performance, traceability, and environmental respect. A commitment that brings the excellence of Made in Italy to all textile sectors, from sportswear to hosiery.
