Fulgar joins adidas and BASF in shaping a more sustainable and circular textile sector
PERFORMANCE DAYS MUNICH 2025
Fulgar, the Italian company leading in the production of innovative and sustainable yarns, took part in the Expert Talk held yesterday, October 29, at Performance Days in Munich. Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar, joined the panel discussion titled “T-REX: Creating a Blueprint for a Circular Textile Ecosystem in the EU”, alongside Drishti Masand, Senior Manager, Sustainability Direction at adidas AG, and Tobias Schwab, Marketing & New Business Sustainability Polyamides at BASF.
The session brought together three of the thirteen partners involved in the T-REX (Textile Recycling Excellence) project to present in Munich the T-REX Blueprint, a strategic document developed within the EU-funded initiative, which concluded in the first half of 2025. Launched three years ago, T-REX aimed to design a harmonized framework for closed-loop textile-to-textile recycling, bringing together the expertise and resources of leading players such as Fulgar, BASF, and adidas, along with research institutes, policymakers, and technology providers. The goal: to build a scalable and economically viable system capable of turning textile waste into new, high-quality fibers and products.
This project has demonstrated that achieving textile circularity is both realistic and attainable, but only through coordinated innovation, supportive policy frameworks, and shared responsibility among all ecosystem stakeholders. At the heart of this effort lies the T-REX Blueprint, a strategic guide outlining actionable recommendations and best practices to accelerate Europe’s transition toward a circular textile ecosystem. The document serves as both a replicable model and a practical roadmap for all stakeholders across the value chain.
“Taking part in Performance Days represents a valuable opportunity to share the experiences and outcomes of a journey that has proven how collaboration can truly drive change. Our vision is clear: to build a more responsible and circular textile supply chain, where innovation and sustainability are not added values but essential requirements for future competitiveness,” said Daniela Antunes, Marketing Manager at Fulgar.
With its ongoing commitment to sustainable innovation, Fulgar confirms its role as a key player within the textile supply chain, actively contributing to the creation of a more responsible production ecosystem. Through the development of new generations of low-impact fibers and processes, the company promotes an industrial model capable of combining high performance, aesthetic appeal, and sustainability, working alongside partners and stakeholders to transform the entire value chain.
