POY Polyamide 6.6 Yarns
POY (Partially Oriented Yarn), also known as Pre-Oriented Yarn, is the primary form of polyamide yarn produced directly from the spinning process. As a semi-finished product, POY is not intended for direct use in knitting or weaving applications and must undergo subsequent texturing or drawing processes to achieve its final performance characteristics.
How is it made?
POY yarn is produced by melting polyamide polymer chips and extruding the molten polymer through spinnerets under carefully controlled conditions. The filaments are then cooled, solidified, and wound onto packages at high speed, resulting in a partially oriented yarn ready for further processing.
Key Properties
Elongation
POY exhibits high elongation and relatively low tenacity due to its partial molecular orientation. These characteristics make it ideal for subsequent drawing and texturing processes, through which the desired mechanical and aesthetic properties are developed.
Processability
The excellent processability of Fulgar's POY allows the production of high-quality textured and drawn yarns with outstanding performance characteristics, suitable for a wide range of textile applications.
Dimensional Stability
Following texturing or drawing, POY-based yarns achieve excellent dimensional stability, uniformity, and mechanical performance, making them suitable for technical, industrial, and apparel applications where consistent quality is essential.
