Fulgar's voice in fashion education
Sustainable yarn innovation for future managers
Fulgar strengthens its commitment to educating the new generations of fashion professionals through a path that combines business, product, and material knowledge. Daniela Antunes, the company’s Marketing Manager, recently took part as an expert speaker both at the 17th edition of the Master in Brand & Product Management at the Milano Fashion Institute and in the three-year course “Technology of New Materials” at the Accademia della Moda di Milano, within the Fashion Management – Fashion Product System program.
Two different yet complementary educational experiences, united by the goal of offering students an integrated vision of the fashion product: from the conscious selection of materials to the development of brand identity, including innovation, sustainability, and communication.
During the Master at the Milano Fashion Institute, Daniela Antunes explored the role of ingredient branding and innovation in yarn production as strategic brand levers, guiding students to design with the entire production chain in mind: from material selection to durability, through to the use and recycling phases.
At the Accademia della Moda di Milano, Fulgar’s contribution was part of the module dedicated to the sustainability of textile materials and their production “journeys”, with a focus on the four dimensions of next-generation fashion: design, innovation, sustainability, and communication.
In both programs, Fulgar shared its vision of polyamide as a highly versatile material, suitable for multiple applications – from sportswear to fashion, from underwear to technical fabrics – and capable of becoming a creative ally for designers and brands. Particular attention was also given to the responsible approach with which the company develops and produces its yarns, combining technological research, environmental care, and Italian manufacturing excellence.
Through concrete examples and case studies, Daniela Antunes demonstrated how innovative and sustainable man-made yarns can contribute to building product and brand identity, offering high performance and new design possibilities within an increasingly conscious approach.
Fulgar’s educational and outreach activities also include the edutainment project developed in collaboration with WRÅD, a consulting agency and creative studio founded by Matteo Ward. The initiative “Tracing the Fashion of the Future” resulted in four short video episodes designed to bring a broad audience – students, professionals, and consumers – closer to the topics of material sustainability and supply chain innovation, using accessible language and a format that combines information and entertainment.
A pioneer in sustainability and circular economy for over a decade, Fulgar translates this commitment into a portfolio of cutting-edge yarns such as Q-GEO® and EVO®, both bio-based, Q-NOVA®, made from regenerated raw materials, and Q-CYCLE®, a polyamide obtained from recycled end-of-life tires that guarantees the same performance as traditional yarns.
Fulgar’s commitment in this field is thus confirmed as a concrete bridge between industry and education, with the aim of supporting future fashion professionals in developing projects that integrate creativity, innovation, and environmental responsibility from the earliest stages of their careers.
