Q-CYCLE® BY FULGAR DEBUTS IN WEAVING THANKS TO TWO ITALIAN COMPANIES
Gipitex and Serates choose Fulgar yarn for their collections
The essential objectives of fashion companies, to develop the future of collections and meet needs, are quality, creativity and sustainability. Even the weaving and yarn companies are working together to implement the quality of the fabrics and sustainability, to generate value for the finished product with respect for the environment too.
In this regard, the two Italian weaving companies located in the Como district, Gipitex and Serates, have decided to create their new collections from a green perspective by combining fine yarns with Q-CYCLE® by Fulgar.
Q-CYCLE® is the result of pyrolysis, an innovative chemical recycling technology that is part of BASF's ChemCycling™ project and Fulgar spinning technology. Pyrolysis is applicable to any plastic waste that cannot be recycled mechanically, such as end-of-life tires, and allows the material to be returned to its virgin state. A doubly advantageous technology because it is self-sufficient: the part of waste that cannot be transformed into raw material is in fact transformed into gas and reused to generate the energy necessary for the entire recycling process. The recycled material share is allocated to the final product using a third party controlled mass balance approach.
Q-CYCLE® has the same functional and aesthetic benefits of a virgin polyamide (lightness, grip and resistance), but with a green plus. A perfect yarn to produce eco-sustainable and high quality fabrics.
