Q-NOVA BY FULGAR®

WHAT IS Q-NOVA?

Q-NOVA® is a recycled yarn obtained from waste materials generated by the company’s main production cycle.

These materials could not be reused in other processes and would otherwise be disposed of externally as waste. Through a mechanical regeneration process, Fulgar transforms selected production waste into a new raw material used to manufacture recycled polyamide 6.6 yarns.

Environmental responsibility, recycling and the reduction of production impact are key topics for textile brands and consumers today. This is why Fulgar developed Q-NOVA®, a recycled yarn designed to help reduce CO2 emissions, lower water consumption and decrease the use of finite resources through the recovery of production waste materials.

and lower water consumption while reducing the use of finite resources through the recovery of production waste materials.

TECHNICAL PROPERTIES

Lightness

Q-NOVA® makes it possible to create lighter fabrics compared to cotton or polyester, while maintaining the same conditions of use.

Breathability

Q-NOVA® offers excellent moisture management performance, helping keep the skin fresh and dry.

Resistance and bright colors

Fabrics and garments made with Q-NOVA® maintain durability levels comparable to those achieved with virgin polyamide, while preserving high technical performance during garment use.

REGENERATION PROCESS OF Q-NOVA® RECYCLED YARN

The MCS process used for Q-NOVA® is a mechanical regeneration system that does not involve chemical substances capable of compromising the sustainability of the final product.

Q-NOVA® consists of more than 50% waste materials from Fulgar’s production cycle. These production scraps, which would otherwise be disposed of externally as waste, are selected and re-melted through a mechanical process that regenerates them and returns them to Fulgar in the form of polymer, ready for subsequent textile processing.

Thanks to this process, Q-NOVA® represents a solution for brands and textile projects looking for recycled yarns, production traceability and high technical performance for fashion, underwear and sportswear applications.

HIGG INDEX

Developed by the SAC - Sustainable Apparel Coalition - which includes many of the most illustrious names in the international garment industry, the idea behind the Higg index is to create a unique instrument available to all operators in the supply chain, enabling them to assess the environmental impact of a garment's entire life cycle.

EU ECOLABEL

EU ECOLABEL is a voluntary environmental label for goods and/or services (generally referred to as “products”). These products must meet specific criteria related to a reduction in the overall environmental impact. The criteria depend on the product group. The  EU ECOLABEL is ruled by Regulation (EC) NO 66/2010 and fits the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) definition for a Type 1  ECOLABEL. This means the  EU ECOLABEL is awarded on a voluntary basis, based on multiple criteria, by an independent third party to indicate overall environmental preferability within a specific product category based on a life-cycle assessment.

LCA

LCA - Life Cycle Assessment is a process of evaluating the effects that a product has on the environment over the entire period of its life thereby increasing resource-use efficiency and decreasing liabilities. It can be used to study the environmental impact of either a product or the function the product is designed to perform, identifying and quantifying the environmental loads involved; e.g. the energy and raw materials consumed and the emissions generated. Also, evaluating the potential environmental impacts of these loads allow assessing the options available for reducing these environmental impacts.
