Breddy's Crossover Pants: the winner of the "ISPO Brandnew Awards"
“We are very pleased that our product has been so well received and understood by our customers. The idea originates from my wife and myself and we have now opened the crossover trousers segment. There is currently nothing comparable on the European market. The innovative Austrian start-up Breddy's is the winner of the ISPO start-up Award under the "Athleisure" category for its new fashion concept: a mini-collection of fashionable pants that are functional and high-tech at the same time. Pants that can be worn every day and on every occasion. Breddy's is one of the few companies in the challenging garment industry that has been able to make a name for itself in quite a short time.
The start-up Breddy's from Austria - founded in 2015 – has been awarded the "ISPO Brand New-Award 2017", the newcomer competition of the world's largest sporting goods fair ISPO. It was Claus Bretschneider and his wife Manuela Bretschneider who came to the idea of developing crossover trousers: a functional pair of pants cut in different styles that can be worn every day. It was their unique brand concept that made it possible for Breddy's to achieve this award in the "Athleisure" category.
With its excellent product, the start-up sets the “athleisure” trend, ideally combining sport and leisure, as recognized by the international ISPO jury as well. As "ISPO Brandnew" prize holder, the brand Breddy's will have the chance of introducing itself at the "ISPO Brandnew Village", a special sector of the trade fair in Munich.
SUSTAINABILITY AS A PRODUCTION ASSETT
Breddy's Crossover pants are produced 100% in Europe in a sustainable and resource-conserving manner. Raw materials are of European origin. For this purpose Breddy's cooperates with other family businesses respectively in Italy, Sweden and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Claus Bretschneider and his team regularly visit their partners and see to it that the production conditions of high quality and sustainability are never compromised.
In particular, Breddy's has chosen to employ fabrics made with EVO®, the innovative Bio-based yarn developed by Fulgar after several years of research and study of the highest engineering standards – not only in terms of production but also from an environmental and social point of view.
EVO® by Fulgar is a yarn made from castor oil, deriving from the castor plant that grows spontaneously on poor arid soil and is not edible. A totally renewable resource that does not require high amounts of water nor subtracts arable land for food purposes.
Breddy's commitment to sustainability is a comprehensive one as it also involves the choice of the EASY SET LYCRA® premium elastomer. This synthetic fiber - fundamental to give the pants their controlled elasticity performance for an excellent comfort and fit - is a green one since it enables to save energy in its processing phase thanks to its low temperature heat-sealing properties.
