WHAT IS AMNI SOUL ECO®?

ACCELERATED DEGRADATION

Its special composition facilitates, in anaerobic landfill conditions, access and digestion of waste material by bacteria, accelerating the degradation process.

AMNI SOUL ECO® is eliminated from the planet in approximately 5 years, while other fibers take decades to decompose.

AMNI SOUL ECO®, like other degradable products, once in landfill it decomposes into organic matter (biomass) and biogas which can be exploited as new resources for the environment and also for the cogeneration of electricity.

With AMNI SOUL ECO® it is possible to create lighter fabrics under the same conditions compared to fabrics made of Cotton or Polyester.

BREATHABILITY
AMNI SOUL ECO® has excellent moisture management performance, this feature allows you to keep the skin fresh and dry UNI EN ISO 62.

RESISTANCE AND BRIGHT COLORS
AMNI SOUL ECO® was conceived in order to obtain maximum dyeing yields. Fabrics and clothing made with AMNI SOUL ECO® have the same levels of strength as those made with virgin polyamide.

THE SECRET OF THE FORMULA

AMNI SOUL ECO® technology is part of a new generation of sustainable yarns made with processes that respect the environment.

The secret of AMNI SOUL ECO® is its enhanced polyamide 6.6 formula - developed by the Solvay Group and produced by FULGAR, which allows the fiber to decompose in anaerobic landfill at the end of the garment's life.
Data shows us that over 50% of end-of-life clothing ends up in landfill. In those environments, clothes with AMNI SOUL ECO® yarns decompose 10 times faster than other synthetic fibers.

While, during use of the garment, the microplastics that are released from the fiber in the domestic washing process are able to decompose 20 times faster in a marine environment compared to other synthetic fibres.

Decomposition results are determined by ASTM D5511 and ASTM D6691 standard test methods.

LCA - Life Cycle Assessment is a process of evaluating the effects that a product has on the environment over the entire period of its life thereby increasing resource-use efficiency and decreasing liabilities. It can be used to study the environmental impact of either a product or the function the product is designed to perform, identifying and quantifying the environmental loads involved; e.g. the energy and raw materials consumed and the emissions generated. Also, evaluating the potential environmental impacts of these loads allow assessing the options available for reducing these environmental impacts.

ASTM D6691 - Standard Test Method for Determining Aerobic Biodegradation of Plastic Materials in the Marine Environment by a Defined Microbial Consortium or Natural Sea Water Inoculum.

This is an aqueous aerobic biodegradability test that determines the degree and rate of aerobic biodegradation of plastic materials in seawater. Biodegradation is followed by measuring the evolution of CO2 using a suitable, analytical method.
