The International Labour Organization, since 2003, observes World Day for Safety and Health on Work on 28 April. The 2010 World Day draws attention to emerging risks and new patterns of prevention in a changing world. It highlights technological advance, emerging workplace risks, and changing patterns of employment and workforce and thus the need for new shared preventive approaches between governments, trade unions and employers. The shared aim is to reduce and to limit fatal accidents, more than 2 million each year worldwide.
